District Logo with message: Delhi Unified School District, Learner today. Leaders tomorrow.

Dear Delhi Families and Community Members,

As our nation navigates new presidential executive orders regarding immigration reform, I want to reaffirm Delhi Unified School District’s unwavering commitment to our students and families. While federal policies may shift, our mission remains constant: to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive, regardless of their immigration status or family background. Our responsibility is to ensure that all students and families in our community feel valued, protected, and supported as they work toward their dreams.

Delhi Unified School District is dedicated to ensuring that every child in our community has access to a quality education, feels safe and secure on campus, receives nutritious meals, and can access mental health care.  We know that the current changes may cause concern for our families and their children.  With this in mind we’d like to remind you:

In California’s public schools, the law requires that we uphold the following principles:

  1. Non-Discrimination: Every student, including undocumented students and children from immigrant families, has the right to attend public school, participate fully in school activities, and receive a quality education without discrimination.

  2. Safe School Environment: Schools are prohibited from voluntarily allowing immigration enforcement officers on campus without a judicial warrant or court order. Schools do not inquire about the citizenship or immigration status of students or their families unless required by law.

  3. Confidentiality of Student Information: Schools must protect the privacy of all students. Personal information about students or their families cannot be shared with immigration enforcement or law enforcement without a court order or judicial subpoena.

Delhi Unified School District will continue fostering inclusive and welcoming spaces where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we can ensure that our schools remain places of equity, hope, and opportunity for all.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance or support during this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school or the district office. We are here to help and are committed to working together to meet the needs of our community.  Additionally, we ask that you access and share the following resources:
